We now have three RSV vaccines.
Moderna's mRESVIA received FDA approval. It is an mRNA vaccine for RSV.
Still needs CDC approval, but it is expected to be available for the 2024-2025 RSV season which tends to occur around the same time as flu season. Next step is ACIP.
The current RSV vaccines are recommended for adults 60 and older. We also have an RSV vaccine for pregnant women to protect newborns from RSV (RSV tends to be most harmful to newborns and older adults). And an antibody therapy against RSV in toddlers who may need additional protection not conferred by the vaccine.
