Natural fruits for your health- introduction

Okay am going to do some work on relevants topic on fruits.

Definition: fruits are the reproductive organs produced by flowering plants that contain seeds; so a fruit is basically an enlarged ovary that develps after flower has been pollinated. This description encompases nuts as well as many fruits referred to as vegetables. Basically if it has seeds, its a fruit (or an ovary such as nuts) and if not, its a vegetable.

Structure
Fruit consist of three layer which together form a pericarp that surrounds the seed/seeds. The three layers includes: exocarp which is the outernost layer, mesocarp which is the middle layer and the endocarp.

Classification: it includes simple, aggregate and multiple.

Simple fruit : it develop from a single matured ovary in a single flower. It is divided into: fleshy and dry.
Fleshy fruits has the pericarp fleshy at maturity and under it we have berry, drupe,pome and hip and under berry we have pepo and hesperidium.
Dry fruits has the pericarp dry at maturity.and under it we have dehiscent and indehiscent. Under dehiscent we have the follicpe, legumes, capsule and silique and then under indehiscent we have achene or akene, caryopsis or grains, samara, schizocarp, loment and nut.

Aggregate fruits : itconsist of a number of matured ovaties formed in a single flower and arranged over the surface of a single receptacle.

Multiple fruits: it consist of the matured ovaries of several to many flowers more or less united into a mass.

Storage
Most fresh fruits should be stored in the fridge in their original packaging but how long to store the fruit depends on the type of fruit.
Plastic bags with tiny vents(opening) help keep the fruit fresh, longer by releasing moisture.
Fruits that are to be ripen should be ripen before storage.

Fruits benefit your body immensely as they are natural sources of vitamins and minerals which are essential for proper functioning of the body. It is rich in dietary fiber, fruits also help to improve the functioning of the digestive tract. Fruits are an important part of a healthy diet for those who want to loose weight, they give ample energy and nearly every nutrient that your body needs to curb weight gain.
