My grandmother had Crohn's - so many things she couldn't eat. But she outlived all the doctors who told her mother (who was 18 at the time) to let her die! (Unsurprisingly, mother didn't have any more children.) My grandmother was told not to have children or she would die... Thankfully, she didn't listen and had two. :-)
