We're sharing a series on candida, an organism that is actually beneficial for the body when kept in balance. However, modern lifestyles often contribute to an overgrowth of candida, which can cause serious damage.
Our residents did our own testing for candida with a very simple at home test to check for overgrowth. All you have to do is spit in a glass of water and observe what happens to your saliva: if the saliva is stringy, swirling, cloudy, or web-like from top to bottom of the container, OR all sinks to the bottom, then you have an overgrowth of candida. If all your spit sits on top the water, you probably do not have an overgrowth of candida.
We had all nine of the adults and two of the older children test for an excess of candida, with some very interesting results.
Even in the very health conscious environment we live in, with overall healthful and delicious foods, exercise, and fresh air - eight out of the nine adults tested positive for an overgrowth to some extent or another!
Many individuals had a very minimal amount, whereas others had indicators they have quite a large amount of candida in their system. Both children also tested positive for larger amounts of candida.
We will be taking steps to clear our issues with candida so they don't hinder our health any further!
We decided our whole community will follow a 3 week natural medicine protocol that we'll share in our next post in this series.
