WE get our drinking water from an aquifer. It is actually suprising how many councils in NZ supply untreated water to residents. Christchurch being one. who knew?

Up until the earthquake last year the Hutt Valley took untreated water from the same aquifer I get my water from. It was subsequently contaminated and now is treated by ultraviolet radiation to kill the bugs.

Still no chlorine or fluoride added. There are plenty of 'bits' in it though. and that's actually what it should be like. There are all your minerals and salts that you should be ingesting.

Pure water, just h2o is actually not good for you. Distilled water is 'dead' water.

We are seeing more and more stuff happening here about water quality also. And it is not getting better.

I would not call it a government conspiracy - because our government is not capable of a conspiracy. This is just incompetence. that is something our government is good at ;-)
