Why are Americans so Sick? The Crucial Question

The insurance scam that was Obamacare will proceed as big insurers continue to take advantage of unhealthy (and healthy) Americans. No one asks the all-important question: Why are Americans so sick? The words “health care” mean just that and nothing more. Modern medicine focuses on treating/managing symptoms rather than preventing or curing disease. It may be considered as CARE but should not be confused with the promotion of real HEALTH. It may be “health CARE” to prescribe addictive painkillers for temporary or long term relief but it is not HEALTHY. There are less-profitable but more effective alternatives such as physical therapies, nutritional therapy, lifestyle and attitudinal changes, and far-less-damaging cannabis and CBD treatments.

Yes, we have a health care COST crisis, but more importantly, we have a HEALTH crisis. We not only have a health crisis in the US, we have been in this predicament, as a nation, for a very long time. For decades certain illnesses have increased to epidemic proportions. Arthritis, Autism, Heart Disease, Opioid Addiction, Asthma, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Allergies of all kinds, Cancer, Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Obesity, to name a few we all recognize undeniably. Large pharmaceutical companies rake in many billions of dollars per year, their investors hoping to share the bounty when treatments or cures are found. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see how long term “care” or “management” of an illness is more profitable than “curing” an illness.

Health insurance companies are not charities. They are for-profit businesses. They aim to have enough healthy policyholders (people gambling against themselves, that they will one day be sick and get their “money’s worth”) to more-than offset the costs for surgeries and treatments. However, the day may soon arrive when TOO MANY of us are sick. The insurers will one by one dissolve into bankruptcy due to too-high expenses. If and when this occurs, and a federal government Medicare-for-All plan becomes reality, we will CONTINUE to pay increasing costs for “health care” in the form of higher taxes. And we will continue to be an increasingly unhealthy population.

The question is asked, by Conservatives and Liberals, is health care a right or a privilege? My own answer? Neither! Health AWARENESS is a responsibility. It begins with the conception of every child, with the health of the mother during gestation, and continues into adulthood and old age. The wealth of information available online is staggering. Choose a subject and find a variety of prevention methods and cures for many common ailments. Responsibility means each citizen doing their own part to maintain their health. Diet and exercise have been used for centuries, with great success. However, Americans seemingly believe obesity has no relation to their diabetes, for example, or that lack of exercise (combined with too much meat, fried foods, sugar and other refined carbohydrates) has no relation to obesity. The relation between lack of dietary fiber, constipation and colonic cancer has been documented for decades, yet many Americans continue to eat excessive meat (which has no fiber) and avoid fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. Unhealthy dietary habits combined with chronic dehydration as the result of soda-drinking, caffeine beverages, and all types of alcohol, creates a toxic, slow-moving sludge in the colon. This becomes a breeding ground for many diseases. In its desperate attempt to hydrate itself, the body even reabsorbs moisture from the colon and carries it to vital organs. It is irresponsible to abuse our own bodies in this way, and the bodies of our children. Yet these irresponsible people feel entitled to receive costly treatments when their bad habits take their inevitable toll on their health.

Public outcry for government-provided health care, Medicare for all, universal health care, is escalating because many of us see the writing on the wall. But neither the US government, via increased taxes, nor giant health insurers can afford to retroactively provide “health care” for all the people who have not taken responsibility for their own health. This is most likely the honest reason the US has not made further progress toward universal health care. There are already simply too many chronically-ill in the US and the cost of typical treatments is too high. It is un-affordable to treat the massive sea of illness, much of which was preventable at one time. However, a one-two-three punch involving environmental clean-up AND Universal Health Care AND exercise/dietary movements could be justified and paid-for initially by the prime polluters - oil corporations, mines of all kinds, fertilizer factories, meat packing facilities, the Pentagon. An effort such as that should lower the disease rate and help to truly improve the health of the USA.

So, back to the ugly question that lurks behind every proposed solution to the health care crisis: WHY are Americans so sick?

Have people lost their common sense when it comes to what they eat, drink, inhale and feed their children? Have they ignored the dire warnings concerning deadly heavy metals such as mercury within tuna fish and within rivers and air near coal mines and coal-powered energy plants? And mercury still lurks within certain vaccine batches, despite professional and public outcry and promises to remove mercury by pharmaceutical companies. (And while they are at it, they should also remove aluminum, widely used as an “adjuvant” to increase the immune response to the vaccine!) Parents need to inform themselves rather than trusting physicians and obeying the toxic vaccination schedules now practiced in the US. You do the math: Medical universities are largely subsidized by pharmaceutical corporations who have their own financial interests at heart, not the health of the general public.

Most every school and classroom has containers of hand-sanitizer for students to use several times per day, because it is more expedient than lining up to use soap and water. So far, only the State of Minnesota has outlawed one of the main antibacterial ingredients, Triclosan, known to cause thyroid disorders in rats. The CDC has found Triclosan in the urine of 75% of human subjects tested and it is proposed that this chemical might be one of the culprits making bacteria increasingly antibiotic-resistant, as does antibiotic-infused cows’ milk.

More than 13% of Americans are addicted to SSRI’s (so-called anti-depressants) in order to keep a lid on their anxiety and depression. Why are the usual suspects NOT rounded up first? Stress. Bad dietary habits, little or no exercise, cultural pressure, lifestyle choices, toxic relationships which drain and weaken us? Simply drinking more water is one way to feel more positive and hopeful. The body requires water or it begins to die. The vast number of dehydrated adults and children in the US is staggering and preventable. These people are truly the walking dead, pills or no pills.

There is a step we could take, as a nation, that could make a big difference in the health of many or most American citizens. In 1995, the “Physical Health Law of the People’s Republic of China” was adopted. Everyone in China, and especially youth, are encouraged to engage in at least one sport activity every day. As a way to finance the nearly 1 million free-to-public gyms and outdoor recreation and fitness parks that have been constructed in China, the government established and legalized the “Sports Lottery.” They earmarked 60% of the ensuing voluntary flood of money to the nationwide fitness program.

The Chinese Sports Lottery is recognized as a way to finance HEALTH CARE as PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE and HEALTH AWARENESS. Kudos to China for becoming a shining example of using people’s free will and sports enthusiasm as a means of funding exercise facilities nationwide.

Too many Americans who consider themselves to be “informed” passively accept the science-du-jour concerning genetics and health. “Bad genes” is their explanation for many maladies. True believers in gene theory are absolved of any responsibility for their own health. And there’s that word “responsibility” again. It’s not my fault. Not my responsibility. I’m a victim of my genetic heritage. Somebody rescue me! I’ll smoke cigarettes if I want to. I’ll eat junk food if I want to. I’ll sit on my ass all day drinking soda or beer if I want to. It’s a free country and you can’t tell me what to do! Okay. But these people will end up miserable and nearly dead, and their health care will cost their neighbors and friends and fellow Americans a lot of money. With this self-destructive attitude, big pharma wins but the rest of us lose.

I hear people refer to their grandparents who “smoked a pack of cigarettes a day and lived into their 90’s” or “drank a bottle of whiskey a day and had no health problems”. No one seems to consider that their grandparents started out with bodies uncontaminated by multiple vaccinations, pesticides and herbicides BUILT-IN to the fruits and vegetables and grains they and their parents consumed. They breathed air uncontaminated by exhaust fumes and by aluminum nano-particles contained in the spray the geoengineers are dosing us with every day, whether they admit it or not. They drank plenty of spring water uncontaminated by chlorine and fluoride (as if the government really cares about people’s teeth!) and medications which pass through human bladders into sewage treatment plants and, because they are microscopic and impervious to common purification processes, they eventually pass back into the water supply! This is one explanation for frogs and fish born without proper sex organs and other deformities.

No, every successive generation since 1900 is born increasingly compromised due to environmental poisons that have leaked into our solid foods and liquids. A genuine “moonshot” to cure cancer would consist of a war on environmental toxins of all kinds - especially those manufactured by Monsanto, Dow, Syngenta and Dupont. It would involve the banning of combustion engines and all air contaminants. It would involve the banning of hormones fed to all meat and dairy animals. It would necessitate banning products like glyphosate, found in all California wines, even so-called “organic” wine. Cancer is clearly an environmentally-caused disease despite expensive efforts to redirect research toward genetic causes.

Why are Americans so sick? Dare to become aware of the toxic soup, however invisible, all around us. Our air, water, soil, our food, our furniture, carpeting, teflon cookware, fungus-laden dust, genetically-modified fish. Radioactivity from the still-leaking Fukushima disaster has spread to the US west coast now, with no signs of an adequate containment solution. Yet we plan to build more nuclear power plants!

The number of doctor consultations would drastically decrease if the US focused on a massive environmental clean-up that included all of the above-mentioned poisoned arenas of our lives.

Otherwise, the number of “incurable” diseases requiring life-long medications (with long lists of side-effects) will continue to rise, along with the cost. Big pharma, no doubt, celebrates this trend. In the meantime, just staying alive is becoming a mostly-miserable prospect for many, whether they have free “health care insurance” or not!

What might this look like, this “taking responsibility” for our own health?
An informed population, informed by doing their own reading and research on food, water, air quality, soil quality, diseases and their causes and cures and prevention. The information is out there, more than at any other time in history! A certain healthy mistrust of doctors and pharmaceutical “drug pushers” is probably a good motivator as well, in addition to the high cost of insurance, doctors, medicine and hospitalization. In my own case, I have hardly ever had “health insurance” and when I did I rarely used it. My health insurance has been in the form of yoga, organic foods, fasting, walking, spring water, cleaning without harsh chemicals, limited intake of meat and alcohol, NO soda for myself or my children, NO candy except on rare occasions, and yes, prayer too! And no, “good genes” is not an explanation because both parents had issues I should have “inherited.”

The staggering amount of tax money earmarked for defense, almost $2 billion per day, could be partially redirected toward an emergency environmental cleanup, as well as a life-saving water purification and back yard garden and community garden movement such as promoted in Russia. We do not have to be unhealthy. People can demand truly clean air, soil and water in lieu of “too-big-to-fail” fighter jet projects - just SCRAP them!

I believe we are dying, frogs in slowly boiling water. We are a nation of overworked, underpaid, exploited, stressed-out, fearful, overweight-yet-starving, beer and soda-consuming-yet-dehydrated, sleep deprived, propagandized- into-alternate-realities (gaslighted), codified, spied-upon, poisoned, mentally and physically and emotionally ill debt slaves. Our children are increasingly autistic or otherwise compromised, rather than happy, creative, active kids.

We must rise up as a nation against the water-privatizers such as Nestle Waters. They will suck us dry. Water is a human right! A birth-right! A health right! Clean, potable water is necessary for health and for life itself. A minimal fee for maintenance of infrastructure and testing is understandable, but not for the water itself.

We must demand a healthy environment in which to raise our children, and universal, state-of-the-art medical care - preventative and curative care - not mere symptom management.

We need to envision kinder communities, a kinder nation, a kinder world. A true environmental cleanup effort will inspire the planet and help us all breathe easier. And the end result will be a healthier nation with lower medical bills.

Sort:

You are absolutely right in my view. People are eating far too many junk foods, sugar and artificial sweetener, GMO's, pesticide ridden foods, drinking fluoride water, breathing in toxins, etc. And most insurance plans do not pay for alternative treatment methods because they would lose money if people used those methods, which can be more effective in giving relief and healing. It is a national disaster, and I belief has been carefully planned. Watch this video for verification:
