The Human Machine- A Broad Discussion On Health Part 2.

in #health7 years ago

This is part two of the discussion about an overview of our health. I will go into detail in future posts, but this series is focused on just the main concepts that are often missed. In short, today we will be discussing the amazing capability of the human machine. For part one, click HERE. Otherwise, continue reading.

A Well Greased biological Machine

In the previous post, I was very adamant to suggest that people have misunderstood the body for being the same as a machine where you can simply remove old parts to repair a problem. This, obviously isn't the case. In fact, unlike a machine, each connecting ligament, bone, and muscle, has a very specific structure designed with it to allow it to seemingly connect with what it's intended to connect to. Even in the instances of veins, one vein isn't fully compatible with every other. You can't just cut here and connect there and expect everything to work swimmingly, because, just like with two fittings that are different sizes, by putting them together, you can get them to work, but only at the cost of instability. Much the same, even though it isn't outright apparent, Re-sculpting the body through surgery, is really just just a rich man's mutilation with extra steps and results. There are, however, similarities that our bodies do have with machines, which is what we are about to discuss.

We aren't made of gears and we don't run off of gasoline, but what does hold true for us, as much as it does for our cars, is that our level of performance is directly related to the quality of fuel that we provide for the system. Biologically speaking, we are, in the strictest sense, what we eat. Through the process of glycolosis, and everything else you learned in rudimentary biology, the stuff that we put into our bodies, is the same material that makes our cells which make up our physical constitution.

In addition, just like with your vehicle, there are several systems in place that serve to preserve it's self and practices that it's user has to keep up on to maintain it's integrity. Ideally, if the machine is allowed to run as intended, it will work well for a long time without any problems, but as you become lax on the oil changes and give it a sub-par energy source, it wears and tears faster. Damage starts first from the inside, but as it worsens, it eventually makes it's way out onto the structural components, and then affects the physical appearance on the outside. With our physical bodies, specifically, once the ill-effects cross over into the outward physical appearance of the individual, the insides of their bodies have been long over abused.

Luckily, unlike a machine, we are designed by millions of years of genetic wisdom crafted through several generations and stages. As a result, our capability to regenerate ourselves far surpasses anything that a robot could do, and all we need to do is allow it to operate at a fraction of it's capacity. A robot requires new parts and an intelligent designer. We, on the other hand, have the capability to heal intuitively.... Providing that we don't mess it up for ourselves.

Bear in mind that as you continue reading, that this is an obnoxiously simplified version of what I'm talking about, but I promised that I wouldn't get too technical. I'm a firm believer that if you are interested enough in learning about your health, that you should be willing to look up the nitty gritty portions of it during self study. This is a broad discussion and would, therefore be impossible to talk about the bigger picture while cluttering it up with specificity. With that said, let's move ahead.

The Human Flow System

When you flush you toilet, waste goes down the drain, into a plant which cleans it, and back into a safe water reservoir. Because of this system, drinking water is readily available for the better part of the world. If the waste were to go straight from the toilet into the drinking supply, however, the story would be much different. Luckily for us, our body knows the risk associated with draining waste into the blood, so to prevent contamination of the entire organism, very specific pathways are responsible for carrying a variety of toxins out of the body without compromising the body. These pathways are led by several different organs, glands, hormones, among other things, and as a whole, makes up our flow system. More specifically, the process by which these contaminents leave the body are depicted in something called "Homotoxicology."

In short, Homotoxicology is the study of how "Homotoxins are removed from the body by natural means within the body. Homo meaning human, and toxins referring to any foreign containment within the body, have a specific way of leaving which is specific to it's size and structure. Small toxins can often leave the body through traditional means ( i.e through the bowels, bladder, sweat, or by being thrown up,) while big toxins need to first be broken down into more manageable pieces. The main reason why that last part is true is due to the potential risk of causing sepsis within the blood if an unmanageable amount to toxic load enters the blood stream at once. Since the body is inherently smart, this will never happen, so long as the body is in relatively good health. I'm not going to go over the pathways in this post, but I will address here that as a toxin is unable to break down or leave the body, it will become stagnant and cause persistent complications within the body.

Tomorrow we will discuss what can happen when toxins stay within the system and the problems with taking medicines even if they are home-brewed, or "Natural." Today, we will focus more on the preventative measures that come before that point and some considerations.

Preventative measures

In the midi-evil times, a portcullis was used at the entrance of the castle to prevent intruders from getting in. Before that main gate, however, there was also a moat, guards, and most like a very rough terrain surrounding the castle. These structures and conditions were intentional and were intended to protect the kingdom at all costs. If these weren't built, quiet simply, the enemy would get in. If your body acted this lax, it would get deathly ill. Once infected, it would be more difficult to eliminate the pest, than it would have been just preventing it. With that said, consider the preventable conditions of your life.

The materials used to build a castle will determine it's integrity. If you build it using stone, you would get more resilience out of it that if you made it out of cotton. The foods that you consume will correlate with the structures of your body. The integrity of your cell walls will be much different when you eat saturated fats rather than unsaturated fats (more on this later...) The resilience of your body's immune system will be greater if it's not constantly bombarded with more and more diseases at a time. We are incredible in the sense that we can heal any aliment, but that ability is limited depending on what we build ourselves with.

Food is only one factor, but it is, nevertheless, a preventable factor. It's not easy to know what foods will be better than others, but there are very obvious choices that you can make without an education in nutrition or biology. For starters, our bodies are a living organism and therefore requires living matter to sustain it. This means that any food which is un-natural isn't conducive to health. Although I'm not going to get into vitamins right now, bear in mind that even if it's compellingly created by science, nothing quiet matches what already exists in nature when discussing biological requirements. This will need, undoubtedly, need more discussion in the future since many will object to this statement with an argument of what they believe is an exception to the rule, but for now, understand that despite our greatest attempts, science always falls a little short of nature. We always think that we can improve on it, and in many ways have, but in the arena of nutrition, we can only create a convincing replica that sort of works.

When I say that "un-natural foods are non-conducive to heath, I don't mean in-organic. Those words are completely separate and non-related. What I mean is that it exists beyond something that you could every have possibly encountered outside of human intuition. Cereals, for example, would never be found in the wilderness and is a great example of this. Fried foods are absolutely terrible and anything high in sugar is straight up devastating to the body. Unfortunately, the majority of foods available in super markets are commonly prepared this way and have loads of processing behind them. None of these things probably fooled you into believing they were beneficial to your health because we all have, at least a general sense, of what good food is.

I'm going to stop here for today because there is still a lot to come on this matter, but it would bog this post down. Key point to take away from today: It is better to build a moat first before you need it, than it is to try to defend your kingdom without a gate. Life isn't super easy, but there are simple preventive measures you can take to save yourself a huge hassle.
