We all know this little creature, "leech". Do you feel amused when you see a leech? Equally, I am also afraid of leeches, especially when it's touches my skin.

The leech is one of the living creatures that creeps, has a small and elastic shape, it can pull itself elongated and make itself short.

There is one thing, to my mind, it's strange, I get some people who do leech therapy for health. Of course I was surprised, because I had never seen that before. Maybe you've seen it before.

Place of leech therapy still rare. To find the people who understand about this therapy, I myself have to go to one of the villages far from where I live. And that I did a few weeks ago with my friend who have to cure his disease.

Leech therapy has been around for a long time

From the several references I've read, it's mentioned that leech therapy has been known since before the existence of modern medical science. Leech therapy is used to repair and treat nervous system disorders.

In 1970, leech therapy became known again, it was used for micro-surgery as well as for some other types of treatment at the time. Now, though rare, but almost in all areas there has been a leech therapy center of this kind. Besides being able to heal certain diseases, the benefits gained by leech therapy center providers are also quite beneficial. I will mention it in the final paragraph.

Can all type of leeches be used for therapy?

There are many types of leeches that crawl on this earth, but for the purposes of health therapy, not all leeches can be used. I once asked a leech therapy specialist. He mentioned that to get the required effect, the therapist needs to find suitable leeches.

Because if you find the wrong leeches, in addition to having no effect, leeches with an unsuitable type can also endanger the patient. I deliberately did not upload a picture of the person being treated, because I'm sure it could just make you disgusted to see it.

Some of the few diseases that can be cured with leech therapy are:

• Can deal with circulatory disorders as well as cardiovascular diseases.
• Heal and can avoid complications for people with diabetes.
• Slows down the aging process.
• As well as some other benefits.

Risks

But not high risk. Well, after seeing some of the benefits of leech therapy, we should also look at the risks that can be caused by the wrong leech therapy. These risks should be considered, whether for medical therapy or in cosmetic procedures.

Some of the risks are:

• Prolonged bleeding after therapy
• Possible allergic reactions to some types of patients who do have a history of specific allergies.
• Bacterial infections, as well as some bacteria that don't work against by medicine.
