Kidney disease is not a new health problem, but over the years had earned rapid increase, speaking from my environment here in Nigeria and the world at large, I stand to be corrected.

In Nigeria, we have witnessed this deadly disease claimed reputable lives including actors and politicians who despite putting up a good fight against it for few years ended up defeated by this dreaded disease. Also, the common man is not left out as many are gone unnoticed because of lack of money for treatments.
Researches have shown that kidney disease is caused more by our own carelessness because we have refused to care for our kidneys which are one of the major organs that holds the human life.
After reading through many research results below are the common six(6) top causes of kidney disease I found out:
1. Delayed urination: storing urine in your bladder for too long is a very bad habit. A full bladder can cause damage. When urine stays in the bladder for long it multiplies bacteria quickly and once the urine refluxes back to the ureter and kidneys, the toxic substances can result in kidney infections, urinary tract infections, then nephritis, and even uremia. Please when nature calls ---answer to it as soon as possible.

2. Eating too much meat: large or too much injection of protein in your daily diet is harmful to the kidney. Protein digestion produces ammonia--a toxin that is very destructive to the kidneys. More meat equals more kidney damage.

3. Consumption of too much salt: avoid eating no more than 5.8 grams of salt daily.

4. Not drinking much water: our kidneys need proper hydration to function healthily. If we don't drink enough water, the toxins can start accumulating in the blood, due to lack of enough fluid to drain them through the kidneys.
We are medically advise to drink at least 10 glasses of water daily.
The easy way to check if you are drinking water enough is to observe the colour of your urine. The lighter the colour, the better.

5. Drinking too much caffeine: caffeine raises the blood pressure and suffers the kidneys. Therefore, cut down the amount of caffeine components intake such as coffee drinks, sodas etc.

6. Late treatment: make sure to have your health checked regularly and treat all health problems properly
