Thalassemia is diagnosed within 1 to 2 years of childbirth. There are some symptoms of this disease. Such as pale-thirsty, stomach-sucking, food after vomiting, frequent infections, jaundice, irritative mood, blood glucose levels of 3 to 5 grams or desiliter. They often suffer from colds, coughs and fever for bacterial infections. In a word, if the patient becomes pale or yellow, shows him as farmer or younger than his age, stomach looks big, then it is suspected to have a disease.
Thalassemia treatment is not there? : There is the treatment of thalassemia disease. However, its treatment is extremely complex and expensive. "If someone is infected with this disease, they do not die immediately. They slowly become like paralyzed patients. Thus there is a possibility of surviving for ten years. If we take treatment on the other side, we can live 50 to 60 years. " Rahim

Dr. Rahim said, 'We are undergoing treatment in the day care system here. About 20 to 50 patients are being treated daily. We are giving treatment every day. Which is not possible for other hospitals. May come out from outside Dhaka and take treatment in the afternoon. But the financial condition of many patients is not good. Someone's monthly income is less than Tk 10 thousand. As a result they will treat the child or run the family. We are collecting zakat for the patient's medical assistance, seeing their helplessness. '
According to him, "if they treat the thalassemia properly, they will not have any problem. They can live normal life. But many people are unable to get treatment due to financial crisis. If not treated, it is a big loss for the country. The number of disabled people in the country will increase. Being understood as a burden. So all of us need to come forward with the cooperation of these children.
