Uric acid and hypertension: a focused review and practical recommendations
This article is a review of hyperuricemia and its relationship with hypertension. It states that lifestyle modifications that reduce uric acid levels should be part of the treatment of pre-hypertension and people with normal blood pressure and a positive family history of hypertension. The is a mild reduction of blood pressure asociated to xanthine oxidase inhibition.
