Do Red, Seedless Grapes ๐Ÿ‡ Increase Testosterone?

in #health โ€ข 8 years ago

To find out, I'll be eating 4 POUNDS of them, every week, for the next 10 weeks to see if they contribute to the next testosterone blood draw the 3rd week of June!

The benefits I've found so far:

  • They're delicious!
  • If you have a sweet tooth like I do, they help to satisfy that desire.
  • Eating 4 Pounds over one week is pretty easy when divided into pre-portioned containers:

According to the research I've done, the skins of red grapes ๐Ÿ‡ contain resveratrol.

Resveratrol is an aromatase inhibitor.

Aromatase is an enzyme which breaks down testosterone into estrogen.

Inhibit aromatase, preserve testosterone, therefore higher maintained testosterone levels.

The question is, how much resveratrol is needed, and how much resveratrol is there in grapes?

4 Pounds of grapes a week seems reasonable to me...

I suppose a separate study could be performed utilizing JUST red grapes...

Summer's just around the corner though; so let's find out if eating 40 Pounds of red grapes in ten weeks, along with the other foods and supplements I'm using, will raise testosterone!

To see the other measures I'm taking in this personal study, and see the results, follow @scan0017!

Testosterone levels were 428 and 437, measured for a baseline in November and February, let's see what happens in June!

You got it!
Many of those examples (and more!) are part of the protocol.
The post previous to this one was all about the pomegranate juice I'm drinking over the next ten weeks...
The others you mentioned are coming up ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for your comment!

Man, 40 lbs is a lot of grapes. What made you decide to start pursuing raising your testosterone, if you don't mind me asking...feel free to decline if it's private.

I'm in my 40's...
A natural decline in testosterone levels begins at age 30, so I decided to have my levels checked (out of curiosity) to establish a baseline now.

426 & 437 were the results, 3 months apart.

I feel fine, however not like the superhuman animal when 23:

Why not feel incredible again?
Then I had the idea for this anecdotal self-study, to report on Steemit, for the potential benefit for men in their 40's!
My levels were 'within normal limits;' let's see if diet, over-the-counter supplements, and weight training has a measurable effect on hormones?

We'll all find out in June! ๐Ÿ™‚

Cool project man, and could be helpful to a lot of people. Hard to get back to that 23 year old energy, though it would be nice.

i appreciate for your this informative post about health...
thanks for sharing

My favorite fruit is grapes. Because with grapes, you always get another chance. 'Cause, you know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you're stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. But if you have a crappy grape, no problem - just move on to the next. 'Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.'

Every human is flawed; I'm eager to see where JP has fallen because I'm very impressed with him thus far...
Before I call him our modern day Socrates (I'm not there yet, but the thought has occurred to me), I'd love to see him through your eyes ๐Ÿ‘

Interesting!
Haven't hit the religion portion of his book yet (if that's in there)...
He's completely against ideology, rabidly so! Religion and ideology seem pretty close to me but I'm not a linguist.
Mos def always call out the bullshit (both in others and yourself): One of the main tenets of his book.
More on that in a later post โœ…
