Climatic change, severe heat and tips to take care of yourself

It is nearing March and it was supposed to have been a pleasant climate but it is now so hot that it is becoming unbearable.

Changes in climate pattern?

We live near the forest and yet, it is hot, even with all the trees and all. All the trees look very bare with fallen leaves and dry branches. The chances of forest fires are very large and people should be careful not to start a fire.

Tips to take care of yourself during this hot period

• drink enough water and prevent dehydration
• wear light cotton clothes
• avoid wearing shoes and use sandals
• try to avoid walking in the noontime, outside
• wear a scarf or cap when you go outside
• take a water bottle with you when you go outside
• applying some sunscreen lotion is good
• do not eat food from roadside stalls
• do not drink water from public taps or unclean sources
• eat fruits that are rich in water and nutrients like watermelon
• eat a light dinner and if possible before 9 pm
• bathe daily and wear loose clothing
• do not shut windows, let the air in
• try to store water in a clay pot and drink naturally cooled water instead of from a refrigerator
• try to avoid oily fried foods
• drinking buttermilk can help cool the body, try it instead of going for sodas or carbonated drinks
