1st cases of COVID causing brain damage in babies who got infected in womb confirmed

US researchers have reported what they believe are the first
two confirmed cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus crossing a mother's
placement and causing brain damage in the infant.
The findings by University of Miami researchers were published
in the Pediatrics journal.
The mother were infected during the Delta wave and their newborns
had seizures, with one dying at 13 months.
