The forgotten power of hair & how this can help us with Steemit

in #health7 years ago

Does having long hair somehow enhance our abilities?

Let’s find out

Long hair has been cited as a source of strength since before the bible’s popularisation of this idea through its tale of Samson & Delilah.

Samson was a man who had immense strength…as long as his hair remained uncut. For those of you who don't know this story, it didn't turn out so good for him in the end. Shame on you Delilah.

Indeed, the various indigenous tribes around the world are very often found to be full of long-haired people. And no doubt they would have been this way for countless generations before the modern world discovered them.

Buy why?

The Native American Indian

Every part of our body serves a purpose and hair, like skin is an extension of the nervous system. Many people believe that hair is useless. Just a fashion accessory. But it turns out that it is in fact a highly evolved type of antenna which transmits vast amounts of information to the brainstem, the limbic system and the neocortex.

The proof

Back in the Vietnam war, the US government recruited Native American Indians for their 6th sense & tracking abilities. But upon giving them the traditional G.I. buzzcut, something unexpected happened. At great expense they learned that once out in the jungles of Vietnam, these people no longer possessed the skills they were recruited for. Even upon returning home, they could no longer track or use their intuition as they once could.

A testing institute was established in which trackers were subjected to 'enemy detection' exercises before and after having their hair cut, and low and behold the answer was clear.

So from that day forth, the Native American Indian trackers were permitted to keep their long hair whilst serving in this war.

The Ascended Masters

If we look at the three most popular Ascended Masters of our time, Jesus, Buddha & Mohammed, it would seem that they all had long hair. I understand it is impossible to say for sure how these people kept their hair, but we can at least establish their popular depiction.

  • Jesus - The most popular depiction of Jesus is as a white man with long hair and beard.

  • Buddha - Despite his modern day bald-headed followers, Buddha himself is said to have had long hair. Usually weaved into a delightful pattern upon his head, which gave the impression of a hat made up of balls.

  • Mohammed - It is said that he wore his hair 'from more than shoulder-length' and sometimes even braided it for long journeys. And it goes without saying that he had a beard. The modern Muslim man can have any hairstyle he wants as long as it is not:

(a) imitating women in style or length, or
(b) imitating non-Muslims in a style that is specifically attributed to them, or
(c) imitating a hairstyle that is immediately understood to be characteristic of sinful people.

...which does in my humble opinion, somewhat limit their options.

Other religions in which men do not cut their hair:

  • Orthodox Jews - The traditional side curls represent a life-time of growth. Though the hair can be cut in other places.

  • Rastafaris - We all know and love the dreadlocked look of the Rasta, popularised by Bob Marley.

  • Sikhism - Hair is traditionally not cut or trimmed in any way throughout their lives.

  • Amish - The beard is kept long only if they are married.

All of these religions do this because they believe it creates a stronger connection with their God(s).

Why is this relevant to me now?

I am not a religious person despite being brought up Christian. Today I regard myself as a spiritual person with a respect for all religions and a healthy interest in the constant pursuit of knowledge through experience. And this information on hair has influenced the way I live my life now.

I have not cut my hair since my partner Sabrina became pregnant with out second child nine months ago because it is my belief that us men are just as involved in the pregnancy period and birth of children as women. And as such I am doing my best to connect myself with the non-physical, in order to be of assistance to this process.

Our first child Esteban was born in the South of France, in 2.5 hours, 100% naturally. And Esteban happens to be one of the most wonderful babies you will ever meet.

Most people say we were just lucky. But I happen to know different. During this first pregnancy period we practiced our own version of a technique called Hypno-Birthing which I will go into in more detail in a later post.

I do plan on cutting my hair after our second child is born, due to the excessive all-year-round heat & humidity here in Bali, but for now it remains long and I remain connected and ready for the birth.

And I look forward to writing a post in which I announce the simple birth of our daughter Luna, who I do believe, if my instincts serve me correctly, will be born shortly after the new moon, a week from now. Despite today being the originally predicted due date.

How does this relate to Steemit?

As a user of Steemit, instinct is an important factor.

  • How do you FEEl during the creation of an article?
  • Is today the right day to post it?
  • When is the best time to convert Steem to Bitcoin?

Whilst there is a certain amount of fact to base our decisions upon it is crucial that we learn to trust our instincts in these matters. Stop and think too much about the logic behind a decision, and your ability to use your instinct is gone.

It is better to close your eyes and FEEL your way into the answer. And having long hair clearly enhances one's ability to do this.

It just so happens that Steemit was introduced to me by a man with very long hair and a beard. At a time when I was posting relentlessly to Youtube with the intention of generating some income for the future of my growing family.

Of course, my time on Steemit has coincided with the pregnancy period, so my hair has been left uncut and I cannot yet tell you what my experience of this platform is like with short hair.

But what I can tell you is that I have risen to a rep of 66.9 currently ranked at #218 (based on reputation) in the space of five months. And I have enjoyed every step of the way.

In conclusion

This phenomena would explain why women throughout history have been seen by men (and sometimes persecuted for it) to possess super-natural skills.

And if the male Ascended Masters really did have long hair, then perhaps there is something to this.

So in conclusion all I can say is why not give it a try?

Grow your hair long - do better on Steemit!

Congratulations!

Thank you! :)

Long hair don't care!

This was a wonderful post and I have never considered that there was a purpose for long hair, though I am familiar with the beliefs surrounding long hair and "power" or "wisdom"

Hair as a sort of antenna is a wild concept, I like it!

Never thought I'd say this but -- Great post on hair!

haha :) Many thanks for your lovely words. I appreciate that very much. All the best to you.

I had a pretty decent amount of hair cut last week. The difference in extrasensory power is noticeable! Nice post

Haha :) thanks for the comment.

I'm letting my hair slide for years now , so far it was only bothersome when growing for the first one, afterwards I started tying it up and it has stayed like if it was cut for the mos part, I would say the difference is there, if you want to feel the wind and react , let some memories and emotions go, cut it, other than that I've cut my beard last year and became less "aggressive" at times , you would look like a revolutionary with a beard(bear down your face) , nice to see you at the posts :) even commenting :) Boss :D , btw how long till .17 is it drawing near

Thanks for your comment here. It turns out I can't really grow a beard. No sideburns and other patches where it doesn't grow thick. Though I do let it go every now and then when I am in the wild. What do you mean by .17?

yeh I knew making a post matter at least a bit , here is a new version on the way a hardfork again 7 day rewards maybe comment rewards more edits such changes

Hello friend. I appreciate you taking the time to write all these amazing comments. Though I have to admit I struggle to understand everything you are saying. Like this one for example. Not sure what it is you are saying?

Yes it's my vague way of speaking(expecting people to know what I'm thinking from 1 word and giving them 5 threads to follow up on :D ),

I wanted to make a post on the upcoming changes proposed in 0.17 , they are mostly changes to the blockchain mechanics , but are important to the whole community,

It's a hardfork. That is what they call it , I'm still not in depth enough to know everything ,you can search for the thread , its from a few weeks to a month ago or check the @steemitblog ,

Cheers ! :D tell me when I sound terrible , Thank you :) !

What about those of us whose hair is almost gone! I would love to have long hair but nature has taken it away:(

Yes, it may not be apparent from the pics but mine is starting to recede a little at the front and this is a subject I am currently researching. Will let you know when I find the answer! Thanks for leaving a comment :)

Please do lol. I am hoping for a cure soon!

I'm never cutting my hair again, maybe that where I have been going wrong all these years. Good luck to you and your wife, its exciting having a new family member :)

Many thanks for the comment. It certainly is exciting right now. She is way bigger than Esteban was at this stage... Can't wait to meet her! :)

Mine was the same, first daughter 7lb 5oz 2nd daughter 9lb1 ounce and both had a massive amount of hair lol

Our little bubba had only a small amount of hair which was much darker in colour than it is now. Perhaps this Bali sun has something to do with that?

Here he is a week after birth in France :)

Ahhh so cute and loving the Camera. Mine had jet black thick hair no wonder I suffered from indigestion

Interesting thought link though I think some will instead ask:
When is the best time to convert Bitcoin to Steem?
:-)

Yes, I suppose that is a good question too. Though I would say the answer is NOW NOW NOW :)

Go for it

always , both are equal :D , mostly when the price of bits is low and steems high :D

I like the name Luna! It was actually on my list of names I liked for my 2nd child (1st daughter). I remember I had a list of names I liked and from those names my ex-husband chose which tow to put together for her name. I remember I had: Luna, Sapphire, Scarlett, and Brittany and a couple others I don't remember. I was sort of hopping for Luna Sapphire. But - she ended up Brittany Sapphire - and it totally fits her. (she's 17 now - time flies!!!) But I do still like Luna. Congrats!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience here. What a lovely list of names that is. I will be sure to post a pic when Luna is born. All the best! :)

While I'm not convinced that long hair leads to a better intuition it certainly makes a good story. Many warrior tribes of the past (not just in the Americas) cut their hair and shaved their heads however (think of the mohawk for example), and still had excellent tracking skills. In many religions and spiritual traditions it is also customary to shave ones head, like Buddhist monks who shave their whole head as a statement of renunctiation of worldly desires, and Catholic monks who shave the crown of their heads for similar reasons, with some of their haircuts resembling the thorny crown of Christ.

We can however find more support in the wearing of long hair in the figure of Dionysos and the Dionysian mystery cults, where long hair represented sexuality, wildness and frenzy, and rebellion against the dominant structures of the day, very much like the non-haircuts of our modern day hippies.

Jesus' earliest depictions show him with short hair, and his later depictions where he is shown with long hair are also most likely inspired by Greek and Roman religious depictions of their Deities (Apollo, Dionysos) so as to make him look more like a God.

Also of interest in the realm of Spiritual haircuts is the long sidelock of the Egyptian God Harpocrates, which combines the best of both worlds. But not sure how this would match with the wizards hat I'm wearing. Ah well...

Wow. Thanks very much for that in-depth response to my post. I appreciate you taking the time to shed some more light on this subject for me. The Vietnam reference for me seems to ring true. Though I cannot say for sure this story is true despite it appearing in numerous forms on the internet. All very interesting stuff :) Thanks again.

Haha I was going to say something along those lines, good points, there were many tribes that specifically grew that crown hair like a horses tail and cut of the sides , exactly the opposite of Catholic priests, basically if you haven't watched it watch Vikings, have to say it's quite a good production , there is lots of drama and scripted moments , but they've tried their best to portray the times and give it a movie feel , just 1 wizard tho and you don't want his hat :D now that I mention it he has no hair , just a hood , seer of the village :D

hahaha .....quite a topic :) I was crying when my Balinese man cut his long awesome hair because he became a lawyer in conservative Indonesia

Yes, jobs & the education system tend to be the main reason why we must cut our hair short. Have experienced this problem many times in my life. But what can you do? Other than become a Sikh! Thanks for the comment ;)

Jesus is not an ascended master, but the Son of God, consubstantial with God. We could say he is rather an Avatar, God's incarnation.
Other: have you heard about the Vrillerinen? Long haired girls in the 3rd empire, who had special abilities.
--- Blessings from Hungary ♥♥♥Kalemandra

Ah. I just assumed that Jesus fell into the category of ascended master. And i hadn't heard about the Vrillerinen, but I will look them up now. Thanks & blessings back to you :)

some interesting things there, I'm also a bit conflicted with the whole religions , too many claims to power there , but I do think that Christianity stands out, the only problem is it's too much to figure out.
