Many people around the world, including me, suffer from chronic headaches, backaches, muscle aches, etc. So, what we usually do – we all go to the local pharmacy, we buy ibuprofen and we drink ibuprofen several times a day. Some people pop them like candies.

Ibuprofen and other NSAIDs, work by inhibiting an enzyme, Cyclooxygenase 2 or also known as COX – 2 that causes inflamed areas of the body to become more inflamed and painful. Block the enzyme and you can reduce the inflammation and block the pain. Turmeric is high in a compound called curcumin, which is also a COX – 2 inhibitor!

                

Turmeric had been traditionally used in Ayurveda and Ancient Chinese medicine. Curcumin is thought to be the primary pharmacological agent in turmeric. Unlike the drugs, which are associated with significant toxic effects (ulcer formation, decreased white blood cell count, intestinal bleeding), curcumin produces no toxicity.

Ingredients for Turmeric Tea:

1) Drinking Water

2) Turmeric powder

3) Lemon juice

4) Honey

                

Pour 4 cups of water into a bowl. Bring the water to boil. When it starts boiling, add half a teaspoon of powdered turmeric in it. Boil for 10 minutes then Remove it from heat. Leave it for 5-10 minutes to get cool. Filter the water in a glass and add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice in it. Also, add honey to sweeten the tea. Enjoy sipping the pain away.
