Good they were awarded a Nobel Prize - I was deeply into this topic a few years ago, especially the differences between early-birds and night-owls. My being the latter, whenever forced to commit to a standard work-day feels like mild jet-lag all the time.
Also of interest is that some of the proteins react even in the absence of light, thus suggesting other periodic triggers.
