It's a miracle! Body Wounds closes in 60 seconds
The University of Sydney has today announced a revolutionary definition of medicine. With a flexible adhesive developed by researchers, an open wound can be closed in 60 seconds.
If you were playing Mass Effect, you probably wanted the game Medi-gel to be in real life. It seems that a similar product has been developed in the researches published today.
The new surgical glue, called MeTro, is flexible and sticky. So in a short period of time it closes the wound and removes the need for staples or stitches. It's a great alternative to other adhesives. Ultra elastic material stops the bleeding in 60 seconds when exposed to ultraviolet light.
But MeTro is not only useful for first aid in emergency situations. It can also improve surgical outcomes. The lead writer of the study is Nasim Annabi of Northeastern University in Boston. The doctor says, "The beauty of the MeTro formulation is that it comes in contact with tissue surfaces and gels like a jelly without running."
MeTro's elastic structure allows the lungs, heart, and arteries to follow the expanding structure. In this case, for example, a patient with a lung punch can start breathing normally within a few seconds after applying MeTro. A new era of surgical adhesives for the medical world, which opens the doors, shows positive results in the tests.
MeTro's high elasticity is ideal for sealing wounds in body tissues that are constantly expanding and relaxing, such as at risk lungs, hearts and arteries to reopen. This material can also be used in place of staples or stitches that interfere with the effectiveness of other sealants, depending on the fluid surrounding the body, as well as the internal wounds often found in difficult-to-reach areas.
The research was conducted in collaboration with researchers at the University of Sydney, Harvard University, Northeastern University and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Nifty. I been using superglue for decades, but it's not very flexible. It closes small wounds, particularly clean slices, instantly, and stops bleeding, keeps out dirt and bugs, and isn't poisonous. Works great!
