Still watching the video. So far awesome. Just curious, why don't you just embed the video on the Steemit post instead of providing a redirect link? That way one can watch the video and don't have to leave your blog page. It's as simple as sharing the youtube link as part of your post, and you will have the thumbnail.

Easy peasy. No coding required. Just go to the Youtube page of your video and copy the video link. Click the share button to show the link (screenshot below).

Once you have the link, just paste it as part of your post text, and there you are.
