RE: Sitting for long periods can increase the risk of diseases
I've heard a lot about this issue and I believe that with some simple changes in habits we can make a huge difference to our health.
- Why do we always sit down when we are waiting for something, like at the doctor's waiting room or bus station?
- We can easily build ourselves a standing desk for working on the laptop, e.g. by using a high kitchen counter or boxes on top of our normal desk.
- Setting a timer to make a short standing break every 30 minutes while working on our laptop. There are even apps for this that remind us in a certain time pattern. (Even a great help for our mind to stay productive)
I myself am also struggling with changing my lifestyle from sitting all day and then trying to make it right in doing sports for an hour, to more balanced movements throughout the day. Thank you for reminding me with this great post!
Yeah, you are right. Keep going..
