There are numerous other benefits of protein, especially for weight loss.

First of all, it has the highest thermic effect of any food i.e. it takes a lot of calories to simply digest it.

Second, it is the most satiating macronutrient, keeping you full longer and helping with hunger cravings.

Also, one of the reasons why building muscle is important is that it is highly metabolically active, keeping your metabolism burning.
