3-4 cups of coffee daily have more positive than negative effects on health
According to this article(in Norwegian), a large study has concluded that the intake of 3-4 cups of coffee daily have more positive effects on your health, than it has negative effects.
The study have concluded that the positive health effects correlates with the consumption of coffee, but have not concluded that there is causality. In other words, one see that the consumption of coffee and positive health effects correlate, but does not have enough data to conclude that the consumption of coffee is what's causing the positive health effects.
Negative health effects
There are some negative health effects though.
For pregnant women a large amount of coffee may cause low birth weight, premature birth and abortion.
In addition, coffee consumption cause a greater risk of bone fracture in women.
