CBD Health Benefits – Why Can’t We Say Much?

You may often read us say that we cannot comment too much on potential CBD health benefits. But why exactly is that?

In the name of being open and transparent with you at all times, we figured it makes sense for us to go into a little more detail in terms of what we can and can’t say, and why we can and can’t say it.

Regulation for CBD Health Benefits
While the CBD market itself is devoid of most regulation, there are rules when it comes to what can and can’t be said.

These rules are not unfair, and while you may find that some bend them or tread the line, we have chosen not to do that, for a simple reason, we agree with the guidelines.

For example, we can tell you that CBD is effective in treating the symptoms of certain types of epilepsy.

We can tell you this with confidence because the science backs it up, it has been proven, and the FDA have approved a CBD drug to treat epilepsy symptoms.

However, when it comes to, for example, CBD and cancer, we cannot make such clear and sure statements, because the science is not finished, and the effects of CBD on cancer and its symptoms have not been proven.

Yes, there may be some promising results, but they have not been proven yet, so we will not tell you otherwise.

We may prefix certain things, such as CBD may have pain-relieving qualities, because it may, scientific studies, again, are being carried out and again, there have been some promising results, enough to say there may be a link between CBD and pain relief. But these studies may end up finding that in fact this link is not strong enough to be scientifically proven.

The Effects of Misinformation on CBD Health Benefits
There is certainly a problem with misinformation in the CBD world, despite regulators (and the FDA) sending warnings to sites and companies who promote false or unproven health benefits for their CBD products, the issue continues.

As a result, you will occasionally get stories where people are shocked to discover that what are perceived to be “known” facts about CBD, are actually assumptions based on limited evidence.

That isn’t to say, as much as we don‘t like to contradict the story linked above, that benefits have been overstated, it’s more that we simply do not know for sure yet.

Our Attitude
We, personally, are big believers in CBD as a product, and very interested in the studies that are being carried out

However, we consider our job here to not be to sell you products, but to maintain honesty and transparency, we are givers of information, not peddlers of sales speak.

We believe that making false, unproven, or exaggerated claims about the benefits of CBD costs everybody in the end, and only serves to increase the stigma that we are trying so hard to reduce.

So, whether regulation on the issues changes or not, we will only ever tell you things are true if the science states that they are.

When it comes to CBD products, we much prefer simply telling the truth, telling you what has been proven, what has been disproven, and what is in its research stages.

That way, you can make your own decisions, and know that whenever you have a question, you can always get in touch with us, and we’ll be more than happy to discuss it with you.
