A survey of 1,536 respondents conducted by the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily through the questionnaire network (wenjuan.com) showed that 61.3% of the respondents usually stay up late 3 times a week. The reason why it is difficult to change the habit of staying up late is that 58.6% of the respondents said that work and life are stressful and there are many things, and 58.5% of the respondents believe that they are used to surfing the Internet with their mobile phones before going to bed, and they are too late without knowing it.

Among the respondents, the post-00s accounted for 14.9%, the post-90s accounted for 40.9%, the post-80s accounted for 36.2%, the post-70s accounted for 6.8%, and the post-60s accounted for 1.2%.

46.4% of respondents said that they usually go to bed after 24 o'clock

As for the reasons for staying up late, the highest selection rate is for entertainment such as chasing dramas and playing games (56.9%), followed by completion of school/work tasks (43.0%) and insomnia (34.8%). Others include: handling housework (29.6%), tutoring children (28.1%), recharging learning (21.1%) and simply not wanting to go to bed early (16.8%).

59.7% of the respondents suggested to reduce the use of electronic devices before going to bed

Nomin said that although he tried to change the habit of staying up late, he did not persevere. “The main reason is that electronic products are too tempting and there are more learning tasks. In addition, everyone lives in the dormitory and their work and rest habits are also affected by other people. Sleeping is not realistic either."

In the survey, 94.5% of the respondents said they have tried to change their habit of staying up late, and 37.4% of them have already changed.

The reason why it is difficult to change the habit of staying up late is that 58.6% of the respondents said that work and life are stressful and there are many things, so they can only go to bed late. 58.5% of the respondents think that they are used to surfing the Internet before going to bed. 52.8% of the interviewees said that the rhythm is fast during the day and relax by sleeping late at night. Other aspects include: lack of self-discipline awareness of a healthy life (35.6%), insufficient awareness of the effects of staying up late (30.5%) and lack of scientific sleep methods (19.0%).

Liu Yanyuan said that although he tried to change his work and rest, he did not succeed. "Maybe there is still a lack of motivation to change." Liu Yanyuan feels that to change the habit of staying up late, it is necessary to have a fixed sleep time and make a schedule for the next day.

Often staying up late made Luo Lijian feel the impact on his body, “Life is irregular, his mental state deteriorates, and his endocrine system is imbalanced. After staying up late, if he sleeps during the day, he will suffer from insomnia at night, which will lead to a vicious circle.”

Realizing the dangers of staying up late, Luo Lijian began to try to change his work and rest. "Now it's basically 11 o'clock in the evening, I will feel very late. If I don't have work, I will try to go to bed at 10:30 and wake up at 8 o'clock the next morning. NS".

How to change the habit of staying up late? 59.7% of the respondents suggested to reduce the use of electronic devices before going to bed, 58.6% of the respondents said that they should strengthen emotional relief and relax the body and mind, and 53.1% of the respondents suggested to maintain a relaxed pace of life. Other suggestions include: rational use of time, improve work and study efficiency (50.5%), exercise, ensure a certain amount of exercise (43.4%), and develop a regular routine (38.9%).

This was a good read, but I almost feel like some of the data is subjective unless they are basing it off the going to bed after 24:00.
