Most african homes have Bitter leaf tree planted at heir backyard and used mosly for preparing many dishes and delicacies. Part of preparing these including washing the bitterleaves about 4-5 times in attempt to reduce the bitterness. However because of its bitterness, bitterleaf is packed with a lot of medicinal importance and health benefits.

1. HELP IN CLEARING FEVER

Bitterleaf helps in treating various health problems such as fever and this is because it contains flavonoids which has a strong antioxidant. All you haVe to do is take a glass of bitterleaf juice and then allow all the elements contained within like andrographolide, diterpene, glucosides and even lactones to treat your malaria symtoms.

2. HELP IN REDUCING THE RISK OF DIABETES

Chewing just one fresh leaf of bitterleaf has the ability to reduce the risk of diabetes and this is because it contains andrographolide which helps in reducing the sugar in the blood stream. Again bitterleaf contains a fair amount of potassium which is very good for hypertension patients as well.

3. HELP IN PREVENTING THE RISK OF CANCER

Chewing just one fresh leaf of bitterleaf has the ability to prevent risk of cancer such as gastric cancer and prostate cancer. Studies have shown that the Andrographolide in bitterleaf serves as very powerful cancer agent and have proven to be very effective in preventing lung tumor, trophoblastic tumor and even hydatidiform mole.

Bitterleaf is a good natural remedy to stomach related problems like from common stomach upset,dysentery and down to diarrhea.
