Lovely post! I have been increasingly interested in Chinese and Ayurvedic herbs and his story has come up in multiple books I have. Another interesting historical figure I just came across is Tapaswji who is said to have lived 180 years but his youth was restored through Kaya Kalpha treatments he started taking after the age of 104. Li Ching Yuen however mostly lived on Tonic herbs like Goji, Schizandra, Reish mushroom, Ginseng, He Shou Wu, Gotu Kola and simple vegetables. Internal alchemical qigong practices go a very very long way too, the herbs just ice the cake.

Absolutely! Or better yet use them in your diet. Why blog about others living happily to 100+ when you could talk about your own experience. Take Reishi Capsules regularly for 3 months and tell us about your mornings :)
