Here I am with a new post, I decided that far from my posts related to my work. In-depth post that helps me learn new experiences. These days I sell a lot of products based on Shea.

So let's talk about it, what is Shea?

Or rather shea butter?

Shea butter is a substance recovered from a shrub of African origin that grows in southern Saharan Africa called Karitè tree, an unofficial name, official name: Vitellaria Paradoxa.

From its small walnuts the substance is extracted and processed, which is then transformed into Shea butter. The extracted and processed seeds are fumigated and shredded to obtain the known butter. Butter contains many fatty acids and special vitamins with antioxidant properties. This butter is used in both dietary and cosmetic fields.

A butter with multiple properties.

Butter has moisturizing, emollient, antioxidant and nutrient properties.

The butter is used for face and body treatments, it does not leave the greasy skin, it nourishes it and is useful against dry skin and skin irritations.

Its composition moisturizes and softens the skin, making it softer to the touch. It is often used in anti-age cosmetic lines. Sometimes it is also used for erythema and dermatitis, in the case of pregnancy many women use it preventively to reduce stretch marks. It is also used against the sun, but obviously it should not be replaced by sun cream but it can be used together, Shea if spread after exposure to the sun gives relief and keeps the skin hydrated. Also used as cocoa butter, Karitè lip balms are sold.  Used for joint massages it is perfect after sport or physical activity.

Especially when heated, it gives vigor and relief to the slightly inflamed areas. Shea is also used a lot in hair care, both as a mask and as a balm, having regenerating and soothing properties, it helps the skin if it is stressed or inflamed, it also strengthens the tips and the fiber. Useful for swimmers because it protects the hair from chlorine and salt. Also used by those who dye their hair to protect them from the aggressiveness of some dyes.

And does it have medical properties?

Not really, it is not a medicine, but it has a soothing action against insect bites and is used by those with a cracked nose or chapped hands, softens the affected skin and relieves discomfort.

Some also use it to massage their legs and thus improve blood circulation. Due to its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it is used for pains from arthrosis or for tendon inflammation, to relieve pain caused by calluses and bruises on the feet. Also used to soften and cure nail cuticles. Another use that was very useful to me during my work in the kitchen, Shea is a real cure for minor burns and burns, reduces pain and helps healing.

In the kitchen?

If promptly processed it can be used as a table oil.  So have you seen how many beauties Shea has for us?
