There is what in my toothpaste?

Above is Colgate for kids. One of it's ingredients is sodium lauryl sulfate. What is sodium lauryl sulfate? "Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a surfactant added to everything from toothpaste and shampoo, to hand soap and laundry detergent." It is in pretty much everything. It is also an effective engine degreaser! An engine degreaser is kids tooth paste? Come on! What about soap? Surely its ok to use right?

Below is a picture of soft soap. Note it's ingredient.

Now I'm not picking on Colgate they just happen to make most of our "health care" products. As you can see it has sodium laureth sulfate. "Sodium laureth sulfate can also irritate skin and eyes, but SLES has a bigger problem all its own: it is frequently contaminated by a carcinogen called 1,4 dioxane, which is commonly created as a manufacturing process by-product."

SLS and SLES are very closely related chemically. They are what make your soap and toothpaste bubbly. Bubbles are not required to actually clean your hands or teeth. It is just a misconception we believe because we are taught to. Look at any commercial and you will see "Bubbles means its working" all the time. When in fact one is a skin irritant and one causes diarrhea. Yea tooth paste if swallowed will make you worship the toilet. While soap if left on the skin for to long will cause pain and redness.

The good news is there are both toothpastes, soaps and shampoos that come without these chemicals that are not necessary at all. You can have clean teeth, hair and skin without the use of chemicals. It is possible to find these products at Walmart or any health food store. I personally seek out products that are missing these two chemicals. Wen shampoo is an awesome products I personally use. And for toothpaste I use Auromere SLS Free Herbal Toothpaste.

I give thanks to you for doing this research and sharing your findings with our community! Its very important people know what it is they are putting in their bodies!

Think about this for a moment - the big pharmaceutical companies have invest most of their stock in the food industry. Well, wait a minute - that doesn't sound right either! Why would the people making our medicine to heal us need to fund the industry which feeds us and keeps us healthy?

WoW I had no idea that stuff was in soap! thanks for the post
