''Don't eat that fruit, Adam&Eve''; health of myth
Hey Steemians!
I’m sure there are people amongst us who is interested in various things from philosophy to religion, from mythology to science. I suppose I have a little interest of all of them and I have to admit that sometimes I find myself thinking absurd things.:) Maybe this is the most fun and also the most confusing part of it.
Whatever, todays topic is one of the old ones. We have a long way ahead. So, lets start already
The forbidden fruit…
I’m sure most of you know the story of Adem & Eve, and the first sin. You probably have heard the myth of the forbidden fruit many times. In many cultures, there are stories stating that this fruit is actually an apple. A big red apple… Sounds delicious, doesn’t it?
And God created man and welcomed him to heaven, gave Adam his woman and many more things. He had only one condition, in a place where any wish is granted right at the moment, eating the apple of knowledge tree was forbidden!
You probably know how the story goes. First sin, and banishment from heaven …
So, why did man want to get the only thing prohibited when he had everything. Was this just curiosity or a counteract? But how could love make this happen? I know, people have searched for an answer to this since time began … Actually it was more like who the guilty one was that had been searcehed rather than an answer. I don’t know if it has been found
If so, can you tell me; what if Adam had Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ). Could he be able to bite that apple?! Just think about it, if he had a basic jaw problem, maybe this myth, that people have been talking about for ages, wouldn’t be here. Who knows, maybe the apple and Eve wouldn’t have been a target of the blamings.
So what are we going to do? Blame a apple for everything humanity has done since we began?
Yes, I know I’m trying to destroy this huge myth with a little dysfunction. Maybe life isn’t that serious too after all. Maybe all our problems aren’t making us sleepless more than a toothache.
Let me talk to you a little about the health side of the topic …
What is Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction?
It’s an achy situation in the jaw joint. Symptoms;
- The sound and friction when opening and closing the mouth
- Being unable to open the mouth fully
- If you have Ache in face and the neck , swelling and tiredness in face followed by toothache. Earache, headache, ringing in ears and sleeping problems you should suspect ''TMJ''.
What are the causes of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction?
Most important cause; car crashes, falling, and direct damage to the chin …
Apart from these, teeth structure jaw joint arthritis and tumors are some of the main causes.
Sometimes stress was observed to cause Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction. Teeth clenching due to stress is another one of these causes …
When to see a professional?
If your chin has limited motion, if you have hurt your chin and eventhough you used painkillers the pain didn’t go away , if your jaw pain wake you up from sleep, and you are having a hard time eating, then you should see a doctor.
What to be careful about ?
• You need to avoid eating food that makes you open your mouth too much (you need to avoid foods that are chewed like an apple and hard like a carrot)
• When yawning support your chin with your hand.
• Sleep face up, rather than face down.
• Avoid screaming and singing loudly.
• Don’t hold your phone between your shoulder and ear when talking. Please use your hands.
If you are careful about what I mentioned above, it is likely that your Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction will go away without a manual theraphy or surgery.
