8 tricks for better memory!

Are you forgetful? You're not alone. Most of us feel that memory sometimes fails. Here are eight tips to help you remember things!

  1. Talk to yourself
Many memory experts use a technique that repeats what you want to remember high for yourself. An example of a situation where this technique usually works is when presenting to new people. Repeating the name of the person who greets is the chance to put it in memory.

  2. Sleep well
Anyone who has ever slept badly knows how it may affect memory. Suddenly, the cell phone is in the fridge and the code to the credit card is wiped up. Sleeping well, on the other hand, is very strong for memory - especially when it comes to learning new things.
According to an American survey, it is brilliant to fall asleep shortly after learning something new. It increases the chance of remembering what you learned. This is due, among other things, to the fact that the new knowledge can be stored in the brain in peace without being distracted by other impressions.

  3. Exercise more
Physical activity temporarily increases the amount of cortisol that causes us to become more focused and concentrated temporarily. Studies in older people also show that a quick walk three times a week for 45 minutes allows the brain to form new cells and the cognitive ability increases.

  4. Eat right
A combination of omega-3 fats, B vitamins and antioxidants has proven to be very good for memory. Bet on a lot of vegetables, nuts, chicken and fish - preferably fatty fish like salmon, herring and mackerel.

  5. Drink coffee
Coffee and tea picks up the brain and makes you more alert. But keep up to three cups a day.

  6. Create routines
Create a mental checklist that you can use every day before leaving home - the cord to the coffee maker extended, the window closed, the door closed, the wallet in the bag ...

  7. Play a movie for your inner
Mattias Ribbing is threefold Swedish champion in memory and officially ranked as the 70th best memory in the world throughout the ages. His tips to remember a text are to see the content as a movie.

Newspaper articles are perfect to start exercising. Is it a robber who flies out of a bank and is hunted by two policemen, you make it an inner movie clip where you are the director. Afterwards, from the pictures you can reproduce the text with your own words.

8 Think about the day that has been
Take a few minutes every night as you spend thinking back on what happened during the day. People, names, events, details ... After just a few evenings, you will notice that you remember a lot more and that memories are left much longer.
