My Day at The Oral Surgery Clinics!!!

in #health7 years ago

Hello Steemers!!
Today i will be sharing with you guys my day at the Oral Surgery Clinic.
So, i went to the hospital and i am posted in the Oral Surgery Section of the Hospital.
Oral Surgery as most of you might be knowing deals with the Surgical procedures in the Oral cavity and associated regions like cheeks, nose, etc. All kinds of Surgeries in the dental section are done here but seldom are major surgeries done. Routinely on daily basis, Extraction of teeth occurs here which is why it is also named as EXODONTIA.
Inside the Clinics, a special suit or gown called as SCRUBS are mandatory for every dentist. Sterilization is the main focus because you have a direct contact with the blood and you are at higher risk of contamination if proper sterilization is not there.
Here is the picture of me in the Scrubs.

Mostly during The day at the Clinics, almost 4 to 5 Extractions are done by one dentist (pretty high). The Extractions are done under Local Anesthesia. A Proper Protocol from Consent to Detailed History is taken before going for any Procedure. A Dental Assistant accompany you in the procedure.

Mostly the tooth Extracted are Fractured, Decayed, Root Stumps, etc. thus Diseased. However, sometimes healthy tooth are also extracted due to Orthodontic purposes.

Here is the Fractured Tooth that i have Extracted.

The Tooth Extracted and the Waste from the Procedures have a proper way of disposal. Every Patient is treated with extra care coz Emergency can happen at any time and you should be ready for that.

The best way to avoid an Emergency in any surgical procedure is to be Ready for Every Emergency.

So that was my routine day Surgery Clinics. Hope you liked it and were not bored.

Till next time.

Thanks alot 😀

You're allowed to wear open toe sandals? Wow here in Canada that's illegal, can't wear open toe sandals in a restaurant either

Lol...that is outside the Clinics...No mobile phone allowed in the clinics either and shoe covers are mandatory inside the clinics.

Ok that makes me feel better. The more sanitary the better. Good post btw, I hope I didn't come off as a jerk?..the feet were the first thing I saw haha

Lol...Not at all. Good Eye tho, i must say.

Nicely extracted teeth. What was your diagnosis?

It was Tooth Fracture...

Ouch. How did he/she fracture it? Horizontal root fracture?

It was an attempted case...The Tooth had fractured due to extraction some other place.

Thanks! Now I know why the tv Series "scrubs" is called this way. 😀😀👍

I don't know about this Series, might be about medicine... I am glad this post helped you. 😉

yes it's about young doctors gaining their first medical practice... ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Scrubs_episodes
