Eyes and glasses (retinal function and diseases of the retina)

Today we are going to talk about the retina, one of the most important institutions in our eyes.

Our eyes are usually compared with the camera. Like the camera, the organs of our eyes play a similar role, so we compare it with the camera.

The retina is a part of the camera's film where the light from outside comes into the eye in order to see things. The retina is a transparent tissue covering the innermost part of our eyeball. It is an organ that changes the light information that enters the eyeballs into electrical signals and transmits them to the brain through the optic nerve, allowing us to recognize and recognize objects.

If there is a lot of optic nerve in the retina, it is the most important institution in our eyes because it will affect the sight of the eyes such as blindness if the retina disease occurs. ^ If you manage the retina normally, Today, I will post about the diseases related to the function of the retina.

FUNCTION OF RETINA

The retina is the innermost wall of our eye. The retina is like a film compared to a camera. When the light energy that we see from the outside reaches the retina and it forms an image, it is absorbed by the retinal photoreceptor and converted into an electrical signal, which is transmitted to our brain, so that our brain is able to see things and recognize objects.

The retina is a very thin membrane with less than 1mm in thickness, and there are several cells in the retina that send signals to our brain. In the central part of the retina there is a part called the macula that is yellow, and the cells are mainly focused on this macula. It is an agency that recognizes and transmits to the brain.

DISEASES RELATED TO RETINA.

As mentioned earlier, the retina is a thin film that we see from the outside and form a phantom in the eye and transmit it to the brain through the cells. Since this retina is an organ that delivers to our brain, many optic neurons are present. Retina diseases should be cautious because they can have big visual problems such as invisible defects.

  1. Macular Degeneration
    macular-degeneration.jpg

This is the center of the retina where the optic nerve cells are present in the center of the retina and responsible for our central vision, as mentioned above. This macular degeneration causes vision loss.

Macular degeneration is a disease in which many eyes accumulate in the macula as the eye ages and the optic nerve becomes damaged as the age increases. This is a very horrible ophthalmic disease that progressively progresses to blindness and blindness, which continues to damage the optic nerve.

Macular degeneration is the most common cause of blindness. These macular degeneration can not be easily identified because of early signs of AMD, so those aged 50 and older should be treated with early eye detection and treatment with regular eye examinations.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is not a sign of early manifestation, so people with age greater than 50 years should have regular eye examinations to determine this type of macular degeneration.

  1. Retinal detachment (laceration)
    detactment.jpg

Retinal detachment refers to a tear in the retina or a hole in the retina

Inside the retina is a transparent jelly-like body called vitreous, which is caused by the tearing of the retina by the force of pulling the retina inward.

When a retinal detachment occurs, it often flickers in front of the eye. When the retinal detachment occurs, the retinal blood vessels are damaged, resulting in bleeding and a decrease in visual acuity.

As the retinal detachment continues, the field of view becomes narrower, a part of it is visible in front of the eye, and a part of the eye is darkened like a curtain, so it is not visible and color blindness can appear.

If you do not take this treatment for retinal detachment or retinal tearing, you may need to be treated because it may lead to blindness.

If you suddenly see something flashing or curtains in front of your eyes and narrowed your eyesight, you should try ophthalmologic examination by suspicion of retinal detachment or tearing.

In our eyes, the retina that delivers the brain to our brain so we can recognize our headquarters is an important institution for us to see. In particular, it is best to find early retinopathy after receiving regular eye examinations from the age of 50 as it may lead to blindness if there is little or no sensory symptoms.
