3D-printed artificial heart beat:save live in future.steemCreated with Sketch.

in #health7 years ago

beats just like the real one.
the soft heart is made of silicon and the size is same as a real heart.
it features left and right ventricles just like an actual human heart.
Additional chamber acts as the heart s engine.
the additional chamber drives a pump that allows the heart beat.
researchers hope to further optimize the device for future use.
around 26 million people worldwide suffer from heart failure.
a problem with artificial hearts is that metal and plastic mechanisms can be difficult to integrate with heart tissue, or damage the blood because of their not natural movement work.

could save a lot of lives in the future.
like the artificial heart created and tested by a team of researchers from ETH Zurich.
In the future, it could be used as an temporary heart instead of the blood pumps hospitals use today for patients waiting for a heart transplant.

There is some research going on trying to create a human heart with a 3D printer using a cell culture as ink. The cell culture is derived by the patients stem cells.

yes thats true sire thanks for comment

So amazing to see this, one can only wonder where technology will be in 20 years time, there are many clever people in the world, amazing :)
