RE: Prostate Care Diet for Today [Day 2]

Do you have any evidence that blueberries are beneficial to prostate health?
The smoothie should be tasty anyway :-)

Hello @mcsvi, thanks for your comments. I do quite a bit of research on these posts before putting them out. Blueberries are a rich source of proanthocyanidin compounds and research has shown that proanthocyanidin compounds significantly slow down the growth of prostate cancer cells. You can do a bit of research as well to confirm that. Thanks once again for your comments.

"Although evidence is limited, a possible role of total flavonoids and proanthocyanidins in prostate cancer tumor progression deserves further study"Source
Doesn't seem really solid, but I think it's really hard to figure out causal relationships in general.
Keep posting -thx.

Thanks for your research. You can have a look at this..
" Many experiments have shown that proanthocyanidins have antitumor activity both in vivo and in vitro...." " Furthermore, when proanthocyanidin-induced autophagy is inhibited, apoptosis increases significantly and tumor cells undergo cell death. Therefore, as an active ingredient of natural products with low toxicity, proanthocyanidins can be used together with autophagy inhibitors to enhance cytotoxicity." source.
This is a more recent publication (2016) from the same website you made reference to, testing the efficacy of proanthocyanidins on cancer cells, with experiment focusing on gastric cancer cells. These results are more encouraging for cancer treatments.
Thanks though for the comments. Really appreciated.
