Corporate World
In a normal World, you would choose YOUR representatives to the legislative body of YOUR country, having in mind they will protect YOUR interests. Guess what? It is NOT YOUR World any more!
Remnants of the old World still has some institutions that are doing some useful job. Like for example, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), under the World Health Organization (WHO). That agency came to the conclusion in 2015, that Monsanto's herbicide glyphosate is probably carcinogenic to humans.
You would think the lawmakers all around the World would protect the population against such irresponsible corporations which only have in mind profit at any cost. Not on your life!
It's a Corporate World now, not yours any more. Republican lawmakers in the US are threatening to cut funding to the World Health Organization’s cancer research program. They are protecting Monsanto's interests at the cost of health and life of population!
If you ask why those results are not widely publicized, it is because Monsanto has spent more than $4.3 million dollars in lobbying during 2017.
very interesting subject, but the lawmaker can not fight irresponsible corporations alone because they are more powerful.
irresponsible corporations can controle the whole countries and the governments to achieve its lucrative goals
Lawmakers cannot be alone because they have their election base behind them. They cannot fight irresponsible corporations because they are corrupt, @samsam01. You've got it backwards.
this world is more complicated than we thought, because not only irresponsible corporations are corrupt !!! do you understand me ?
