Tennis Elbow

in #health8 years ago

"Tennis Elbow" is a common term for a condition caused by overuse of arm, forearm, and hand muscles that results in elbow pain. You don't have to play tennis to get this, but the term came into use because it can be a significant problem for some tennis players.

The goals of treatment are to reduce pain or inflammation, promote healing, and decrease stress and abuse on the injured elbow.

We are going to again use the press and release method for the points of the elbow. This releases tension and pain as well as stimulates blood flow for healing and minimizes swelling. We do not rub so as to stretch the tendon and muscles and possibly cause more problems.

We start with the main point on the outside of the elbow joint LI-11 and repeat 3 times.

From there we go to the point L-5 two finger away from the inside crease of the eblow.

LI-10 is next in the line up all using 3 press and releases, but more will not hurt the arm or problem.

LI-12 follows the LI-10 with the same press and release method.

LI-13 is the final point on the arm but we follow it up with opposite GB-34 (as seen in the TMJ leg point) as it relaxes many muscle groups.
