Stress & Anxiety

Stress... eventually converts into a deeper and unconscious level, Anxiety. It is significantly more problematic for our health, functioning and emotional well being than simple stress.

Anxiety is a physiological and psychological state we typically recognize as apprehension, worry, or uneasiness. It is a normal reaction to stress and generally occurs without an identifiable stimulus. It is however distinguished from fear, which is a reaction to external threat soliciting behaviors of escape and avoidance. Anxiety is perceived uncontrollable or unavoidable threats.

Most anxiety is easily remedied with point manipulation, however the longer the stress or anxiety has been with an individual the longer the remedy process may take. Each person should feel a level of relief from one application, however multiple or regular applications may be required depending on how deep-seated the anxiety is. This will not take away the cause of the stress or anxiety, it will however relief the symptoms.

The main point that will need to be manipulated is called H-3 and is located on the forearm at just before the crook of the elbow (inside of Arm) on the Ulna Nerve. With a finger or thumb, rub this point in a circular motion (rubbing gently) then pulling down toward the small finger, for 1-2 minutes on each; typically you will feel the affects relieving most to all of a persons immediate anxious feelings.

When do this or any Kyusho Remedy, having someone else apply the method to you will yield significantly better results. But the person must develop a touch that is acquired only through hands on practice.

Anxiety will have a tendency to make the individual tighten their hands and arms as they retract in toward themselves. This is a position, which inhibits a relaxed state and must be addressed. It also illustrates how stress manifests in the arms and why we address it there. A natural tendency for someone under stress or anxiety is to fold their arms in front of their chest (retraction). The fists position naturally under the H-3 points we use for stress, anxiety and insomnia. We can also see the more stressed the individual the tighter they hold the arms and fists, naturally causing more pressure into H-3. This is the bodies’ natural way of trying to calm itself when a problem has occurred. By the use of H-3 as mentioned above we can effectively relax the individuals arms letting more nerve and blood activity move away from the core of the person.

This will help in relief, however adding the Sore Throat recipe of level 1 for the emotional issues, or the LI-10 for the shallow breathing (hiccups) that is sure to be present.
