A stroke of good luck
Quick Success Story:
I work as a therapist and have just been invited onto the team of a world renowned Doctor (specialty in Brain Injury). My first case was yesterday at her facility (I have worked on and off with her for 15 or so years doing research and therapies). Needless to say I see many people with various trauma related issues... each uniquely challenging.
First case was a 72 year old Male that had suffered a right side stroke. He was lucky as he retained mental capacity, but still confined in a wheelchair. Many other disorders like OCD, Depression and many others that usually follow this type of an event.
He had been coming to one of the clinics I work through for a year with great dispositional as well as emotional recovery. However he still has physical impairments that cause not only dysfunction, but pain as well.
The head Doctor asked me to sit in on his regular treatment with him and asked if I could dissipate the chronic pain in the neck and or his left arm. The treatment began by working the nerves of the arm, then onto the neck (working peripherals first then to cranial... opposite of most), which released all pain in both areas in minutes.
He also has formed a claw hand where the muscles curl the fingers in and the arm weakens, as the pain dispersed he was also able to move the arm more freely... this was a 15 minute process, he then finished his time with his scheduled session.
Next week a full session of nerve therapy will be directed toward mobility recovery.
