One main problem with vegetarian food comes from the lack of density. Our brain needs a lot of energy and only meat can deliver that on a level that we can make the best use of it. That's why a vegetarian life-style combined with a high quality of life is only possible for rich people. This is especially a problem for children in poor places. When a child's brain doesn't get enough energy during the main development time, the child will be dumb as an adult. The regular intake of meat fixes this problem and is cheaper than dense plant food, because animals can look for their food on their own if they have to while you have to harvest th entire grain field.

Your comment about modern meat production is completely naive. animals feed on processed foods with a rich addition of anabolic, antibiotics and other stuffo
I'm not arguing that the meat production is holy or anything. It's just that we quite likely would have a big problem without eating meat and meat also a quality aspect in life is for many people. And also relatively poor people like to surround themselves with a bit quality. Or would you forbid it them to eat meat?
I think if the majority learns about all aspects of meat eating they will can not be forced to eat it 🤔
