It's amazing how sicking sweet most things are after you haven't eaten much sugar or even fructose for a while. Your body and taste adjust pretty quickly after you detox from sugar. One of the main problems caused by excessive sugar intake is the damage done to the large instine, the lining of which needs sugars from complex carbs. It thins as it's starved and thins which causes a cascade of inflammatory reponses. The so-called Slow Carb diet is the easiest way to achieve the proper balance for the long run. Ketongenic diets are also effect, but much harder to maintain.
