It is my personal observation that video can completely blank out short term memory before it can be written to the brain. In other words, there is a chance that unending video or long term video can result in no memory of events. For example, Prof. Vandenberg(might not be completely correct name it was a long time ago) in 1981 did a series of studies where students watch video learning courses to determine if there was a higher degree of retention. There was but students do not watch very much television or video. Once the amount of video time went up significantly, my own personal studies show that instead of increased retention there was near zero retention. People cannot remember what occurred hours ago, what videos they watched or many if any details in a 'couch potato' marathon.

I think you are absolutely correct. Spending lots of time in VR leaves me with a feeling of time lost. It goes by sooooo fast. Where did 2016-2017 go?
