The Effect of Underclothes in Men's Infertility
The study has been conducted by a group of researchers from the United States' Harvard-TH Chan School of Public Health. Their research report was recently published in the 'Human Reproduction' magazine.
The study was done on 656 men. All of whom went to treat infertility problems from 2000 to 2017 in the United States Massachusetts General Hospital. In the study, those who wear loose underwear under the pants, their density of semen is an average 25 percent higher than men wearing tight underwear.
The opinion of researchers that due to loose clothing, temperature around the testicle is relatively low. This can be a reason for the increase in density of semen. Experts say that this small habit can play an important role in increasing the fertility of the male. Because, if the temperature is above 34 degrees Celsius, the sperm production is lower than normal.
In this study, researchers took into consideration various factors including men's age, body weight and height adjustment, smoking, and drug-taking tendencies. However, the main reasons for the density of the semen are the tightness of the underpants, they are identifying it.
Studies also has shown that sperm production is due to a type of hormone released from the brain (follicle stimulating hormone or sperm cell stimulating hormone). The brain starts releasing this hormone when the rate of semen production decreases after the testicle temperature increases. Research has shown that the presence of this hormone in their body is 14 percent less than men wearing tight underclothes.
