Why you should restore your foreskin

in #health7 years ago

If you were born in the United States, circumcision can seem as normal as a haircut. The notion of having a foreskin can seem strange. But for much of the world, the opposite is true. In the majority of Europe, for example, less than 10% of males are circumcised.

There comes a point where it is worth stepping back and understanding the implications of being circumcised. To do so, we must first understand what function a foreskin serves.

The foreskin covers and protects some of the most sensitive parts of a penis. Ideally, these parts will only be exposed during arousal. After circumcision, these parts are exposed 24/7, constantly rubbing against clothing and the environment. Over time, these parts lose their sensitivity. They become dry and calloused.

The foreskin itself is also extremely sensitive. It's estimated to contain 10,000 nerve endings! Circumcision removes much of these nerve endings, thereby significantly reducing the amount of pleasure a man can experience.

The foreskin also helps the penis stay naturally lubricated during intercourse.

If you were circumcised, it is impossible to fully replace what was lost. But it is possible to regrow a new foreskin.

So why would we want to do this?

  1. Better sensitivity = better sex.
The most obvious reason is that this will again your penis to regain a huge amount of sensitivity. This reason alone drives many men to begin restoring.

  2. The alleged "benefits" of circumcision are exaggerated, and sometimes outright bullshit.
We're told there are valid medical reasons to desire circumcision. Among them are the claims that it's cleaner, less likely to spread STDs, and that it's even more aesthetically pleasing.
The issue of cleanliness and disease is solved with very basic hygiene. If you wash yourself regularly, this will not be a problem.
And don't believe for a second that most women prefer a circumcised man. Most women who have experienced both will say that circumcised men can be excessively rough and intercourse with uncircumcised men is much more comfortable.

  3. The reasons to restore include psychological benefits. Many men report a sense of well-being after restoring. They feel as though their bodily autonomy was violated with circumcision, and they are happy to know that they have done what they can to recover from it.

How do we begin to restore?

That is a question that requires a whole other article to answer. Restoringforeskin.org is the most popular website for information on how to restore. The basic idea is take the skin that you currently have and slowly expand it so that it completely covers you, just like a natural foreskin would. This is a process that takes a lot of time and effort, but virtually all men that have done it will say that it is well worth it.

This article is intended to be a quick introduction to the topic for those who may be unfamiliar with it. I hope it inspires people to do more research and realize how important this can be.

If you were circumcised, you had your genitals permanently altered without your consent.

But you do have the ability to do something about it.
