Stress Filled Day

Sometimes you just have days like this. It seemed like I just couldn't get a break from the non-stop crying. This is just a small example of how things can cause discomfort or stress. For me I was uncomfortable and a frustrated since I got up at around 10am. This was the case all while trying to piece together this post. Also this is nothing in comparison to what some of you may be going through or have to deal with on a regular basis in your own lives. I made this post exactly for that reason. Things can get super uncomfortable and you may seem like just throwing in the towel and calling it quits. When it comes to taking cold showers this is indeed the case for many people. It hurts. It doesn't feel good in the moment. You want to turn on the hot water. But remember that this is just a test. It will test your willpower. It will test your courage. It will also test your patience. Know that you are bigger than the water.

I have been doing a much better job of getting more sleep lately.

And if you need a bit more encouragement, check out my last cold shower video. Shalom.

Bro @humanearl , a Blessed evening , Struggle come everytime that makes you up and down , the only important thing is to control your feelings . Like When you are in a cold shower at the moment you need to control your over thinking and feeling ,just take a deep breath and feel the goodness and happiness for the whole day you encounter. [ haha at that time (always) when Im taking a shower ,I think there is someone watching me]. ✌✌

The biggest key to taking cold showers is to take deep breathes while controlling your breathing.

Hahaha sometimes I do stop breathing wahaha because I just do a Cold shower for sometimes also ✌✌

I like this... I have (very sporadically) engaged in cold showering--usually as, just as you say, a "test" of my courage and will power. It's also one of those weird "pleasure from pain" kind of things; almost masochistic in a way..

It's funny you say that. You should watch The Black Mirror episode called Black Museum on season 4.

That episode was based off Penn Jillette's short story about a pain addict. https://heavy.com/entertainment/2017/12/penn-jilette-pain-addict-black-mirror-museum-buy/

Funny you should say that... I love that show lol. Especially this latest season, which is the best, imo.. And, if I remember correctly, it's the fear he truly craves, right? (which is why hurting himself is not effective). My favorite episode is episode three: "Crocodile." omg.

Well at first he craves the pain but then it's not enough so he starts craving the pain plus the fear. Crocodile was eerie. I figured she would start covering her tracks by having to keep killing but eventually it seems to infer she got caught.

Definitely. That was the whole twist with what was it... some animal at the and--the rabbit! Remember the rabbit the insurance woman's husband brought home--they implied they would be able to read its mind I think it was. But yeah, the length she was willing to go to; how she kept killing everyone... man, that was messed up.

Yeah... that article is kind of confusing. The episode about the pain addict is the foirst episode; not the one entitled "Black Museum," which is the last episode, and about something entirely different...

Black museum has 3 different stories weaved into it. The writer is brilliant.

Yes, that one had many different twist and turns... I thought the end was so sweet how she gets that bastard--I did not see that comin lol. That was great. Going back to "Crocodile," though--there was actually an episdoe in an earlier season--do you remember? It was some kind of deal where people were being blackmailed by some unknown figure who was making people to perform increasingly crazy stunts to keep their secrets. A teenage boy gets filmed watching some kind of illegal porn or something like that--and he's supposed to rob a bank or he'll be revealed.. very similar to "Crocodile"

Tried it yesterday ! Hope I get it to make it a habit ;)

How did you feel afterwards and was it hard for you?

It did feel great afterwards though :)
I guess this is my third time in winter going with cold water ;)
The crossing the 1st step it becomes easy :D

Time only those who have the patience to absorb the stress and you will nail it too

Cold showers are one of the best ways to shed stress.

@humanearl,

This is so great! Yeah like it says your body is now preparing for cold shower water like a bamboo tree. So it can hold better, refresh better, etc! This is pretty amazing finding! Have a great day ahead dude!

Cheers~

Instead of fighting the cold water, be one with the water and take the pain.

@humanearl - Sir I have noticed with cold shower your body & mind is refreshing & your vivid knowledge of life helps us to learn something new every time... It's a wonderful secret of cold shower Sir...

+W+

There's so much to learn when you take the cold showers. You learn more about yourself and how tough you are mentally.

We must get out of comfortzone and test those resistances of our life, then only we can truly understand who we are and what we are upto.

Thank you...steem on and stay blissful...

In western society comfort is put on a pedestal. It is worshiped. Comfort cause you to be very complacent so this is why I like to test my mind and body through exercise, cold showers

What if I say....if you early in the morning at around 4:30 AM and do some aerobic exercise and also yoga. trust me if u get up early in the monring, you can sense a different kind of energy altogether.

Anyway cold shower will continue yielding better results.

Thank you and Have a great day.

Haha. I'm sometimes still up at 4:30 am even though lately I've been getting to sleep sooner. It is definitely a different energy being up that late/early.

Keep puahing through it @humanearl. Life is a rollercoaster. It is those time that yiu are on that downhill that will truely define you.

That's a good way to describe life. So many ups and downs. I've been down since I've been out of college so hopefully we start getting some upwards momentum.

I think a lot of people face that same feeling. In the moment a cold shower is terrible. IT is like when you're on the treadmill and you just want to give up. But once you are out of the shower or off the treadmill you're elated that you stuck with it. I think the hardest part is consitently going back to the well to test yourself again, which is why people become complacent and give up on goals and resoluitions. Another thing to think about is that life is all about compounding. You won't see results quickly, but repated healthy habits compound over time and that is when you see results. Awesome post, I know a lot of people will be able to relate to this.

Yeah the toughest part is the first step.

And health does have compound effects. I'm seeing this in my own life. People want quick results which is why many don't stick to their goals.
