WHICH KIND OF SHOES SHOULD YOU USE FOR TRAINING?

in #health7 years ago

Sup, guys! My goal with this article to help you have an idea for which kind of shoes you should use for different types of training according to MY experience. Let's jump to it
1. Running shoes

I don't even know these brands, I just googled running shoes!

I believe these are the most commons to be found in sports stores, even though some lifters hate it I think they have their place. Aside, of course, running, you could use it for lifting if you're not spending a lot of time on your feet. They're comfortable, so if my posture isn't the focus of the exercise I'll take them. For when you're doing exercises seating or lying down (except the bench), every day live, running and other kinds of cardio.

2. Olympic shoes

Even if you don't like Olympic weightlifting, the aesthetics are great.

These are more common among lifters, but many people don't even know why, so there is the reason: this kind of shoes elevates your heels which makes easier on your posture when you go down, you can be more upright. It won't mess with your posture if you don't use every single day, nor limit it. Check this illustration:

That being said, it's easy to understand why people prefer it to squat, you're in a stronger position. On a bonus, many people use it to bench as well, for your reasons:

  • if you're a powerlifter, you're likely to do it on competition day.
  • you can get a slightly higher arch.

They're not good for running or walking in general because they're firm so have that in mind.

3. Flat shoes

Exactly the picture you were waiting for

Consider everything from the previous topic and apply the opposite. Eh, if it was like that would be easier. Some people like to do floor exercises (like deadlifts, rows, shrugs... ) with it, others don't. So I'll show both sides and you decide:

Weightlifters will not use them, since the lifts that matters are done with Olympic shoes then everything should be done with Olympic shoes. As simple as that.

Powerlifters, bodybuilders (and gym bros not gonna like) go for flat and even bare feet. I really don't think it will make you stronger but it's for sure for comfortable! Just try not to get kicked out...

This is it for today! My post is trying to condense everything, so help me in the comments if I forgot anything! Thanks for reading.
