Ear implants made of "body cells" of 5 children in a technology which is the first of its kind!

In a first-of-its-kind experiment, new ears were implanted for 5 kids made from their own cells, where Chinese researchers conducted the leading experiment on children with (Macrotia) which causes hearing problems for people with that disease.
They used ear cartilage cells of the patients obtained from the other ear to form new cells in this historical experiment.
The traditional treatments for this condition are either through the artificial ear or using cartilage taken from the ribs of children.
This is a new pioneer treatment that was done by "Guangdong Zhou" at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai to offer hope for patients in easier ways.
The experiment included taking a CT scan of the healthy ear, to create a printed 3D replica to reflect the shape of their affected ear, and then make a sparse mold with small holes filled with substances that decompose inside the body.
Over the course of 12 weeks cells begin to grow in the mold form, and other substances begin to decompose.
However, it is not clear how long the process will take to complete the entire treatment, and the researchers will watch the five patients for 5 years.
The findings and results that were published in the journal" EBioMedicine", have been welcomed by many experts around the world as a major and great achievement.
