Good evening everyone and welcome to our first Saturday Tip!
So today I wanted to talk about something very prominent right now with everyone: Flu season 🤧 🤒 Who here has that cough that’s been going round?? 😷🙋🏻♀️ everyone I bump into seems to be struggling with it this year...a cough that just won’t disappear is a nightmare...!!!
Luckily enough, I have 3 tips to help you get better, and not catch it again! 👩🏻⚕️
Tip 1: Cover your mouth with your elbow when you cough or sneeze 🤧 imagine 100,000 germs travelling at 100 mph...that’s how effective a sneeze is at spreading illness 🦠 if you stopped that spread happening, you won’t risk contaminating yourself again once you do get better...nor will you accidentally share it with someone unintentionally #sharing isntal way scaring!
Tip 2: Sanitis ! Although most people love an alcohol gel to sanitise hands, alcohol is incredibly harsh on the skin, drying it out. Instead perhaps try mixing 15-20 drops of lavender essential oil in a spray bottle with some water (if you’re using a pure, clean oil, like Arbonne or doTerra, then 5-10 drops will be plenty!). Use this to spray your hands, counters, door handles etc!
Tip 3: Get your vitamins in! 15 minutes a day in the sun ☀️ would do fantastic for your vitamin D levels, which help your immune system...however, if you live in a rainy country 🇬🇧 taking 10,000 units of vit D a day as a supplement will help keep the lurgy away! (30,000 units if you are sick, but only for 3 days or so!) vitamin D and C work together to keep your immune system strong from the inside out so plenty of oranges too!! Getting your vitamins from food is the best way to ensure adequate absorption but if you are struggling to eat all your fruits and veg, add 2gr of Vitamin C and take it with a meal to encourage better absorption. 🍊
Be kind to one another you guys and stay warm and well this winter 💓
