India, The Land of spirituality though have helped the World in curing diseases through Yoga and stay fit but somethings have gone wrong in our nation it self.

Most of the household women do all the work indoor and also prefer Indoors. The time when the sun is shining at its peak most women will be either be out with an Umbrella or a Scarf all over the face to prevent face tan from the sun or like most of them they don't get out at all to prevent getting tanned.

Why do we care?

Vitamin D is essential for good health & Strong bones, it also plays a role in the growth of muscles, brain, lungs & Heart & Immunity.
Even my mother is a patient of Vitamin D deficiency , Just imagine how many more people are still left unknown to the Problems.

But

There is something deeper to understand about the society in general than just indoor/outdoor,
People Tend to like Fair face more than darker complexion , a Social Taboo which have been going on since the 50s

This Cultural Complexion issue has made Girls Complexion conscious and stays indoor. Though this trend is changing through millennials, still it will take quite some time to get to the point where Beauty will not be measured skin deep.

What the Metrics Say

A four Year survey of 5,65,726 undertaken on women by a leading diagnostics chain SRL Diagnostics between 2013 & 2016 suggest that around 75-80 % of women across India is lacking vitamin D levels in their blood. This was even more severe in the southern part of India, where the results were as high as 81% of women lacking sufficient Vitamin D.

Many people are still unaware of this alarmingly high deficiency of vitamin D which is gonna affect them in the short & long run.Fatigue & aches are some the early symptoms which are ignored. Research suggests that even after 30 min of exposure to sunlight vitamin D is not synthesised in the body.

Even the Children today don't play out much often that We used to due to the Smartphones & Tablets which gives them a much virtually wider view of the world than in reality which is an issue of its own but this surely can be a contributing factor of vitamin D deficiency in future.

Cures & Remedies

A 10-15 minutes daily of direct sunlight without wearing sunscreen if you are fair to medium toned. If you have dark skin, you will likely need more time in the sun to make enough Vitamin D since your skin has more protection against the sun’s effects.

The more sunshine we receive, the more melanin is released in our skin. It’s believed that up to 90 to 95% of most people’s Vitamin D comes from casual sunlight exposure.
