RE: Metabolic meltdown and insulin resistance - a brief overview
Most people mistake compromise for balance. Our biology does balance, its called homeostasis. We dont get to decide what it needs - we either get it right or we get sick. Stuffing in all sorts of random tasty things as a prop to change our emotional state is addiction rather than balance, but in fairness it takes a lot of experimentation to work out what works.
True. What do you recommend to eat when the weight gain is affecting health.
Do some searches on Paleo or HFLC or ancestral diets, the bulletproof diet is simple and a good place to start. After 6 months or a year of that I would totally recommend trying the 90 day carnivore diet - search Dr. Shawn Baker. This is where I am at, and will probably stay with it until I find something that can out perform it. I am 47 with low blood preassure after being high fat low carb for 3 years. I also just came 1st in local SUP event, so happy with health. Food addiction is not easy, many times we need to look at the deeper beliefs that make us need to change our emotional state. Beer = fear unfortuanaltey why would we need to relax if we were not carrying tension or defensiveness - exercise, meditation and breathing techniques will help with over coming sub optimal eating habits. Good luck and thank you for your question.
