Bowel cancer is a general term used to describe cancer that begins in the large bowel (large intestine). Another term used to describe bowel cancer is colorectal cancer. Sometimes cancer starts from the small bowel (small intestine), but this type of cancer is rarer compared to large bowel cancer.

There are three main symptoms of bowel cancer

1-Presence of blood in stools.

2-Change in the habit of intestine, which include looser and frequent stools.

3-Abdominal pain.

Research shows that bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer diagnosed in the UK with 5% of people in the UK will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime.

Nature provides us with vast variety of natural product to cure such diseases, such products include plants parts. Apple is one of those natural products.

Eating just one apple a day can slash the risk of colorectal cancer by more than one third. In Poland researchers have surveyed 592 People with colorectal cancer and another 700 with no cancer about their diet and lifestyle. Individuals with no cancer tended to eat more apples than those with cancer, and they found that the more apples that an individual ate daily, the less likely they are to develop bowel cancer. The observed protective effect of apple may be as a result of rich content of flavonoid and other polyphenols in apples. Also apples are a good source of fiber, and diets with high fiber are known as a risk reducer for colorectal cancer.
